Vegetarian

No, I'm not a vegetarian, but my newest sunprint is! My friend over at A Time 4 Art and I have been playing with sunprinting and today the idea of rice and beans came up...so I grab another piece of muslin, my paints and head for the picnic table...I made a stop in the kitchen for some spaghetti pasta and some whole grain rice. Slathered on some green and yellow paint, scattered the spaghetti and rice across it and an hour later, voilá, my newest masterpiece! HAH! Actually it turned out pretty nice! I also tried one with just red and using some coarse screening we found in cleaning up. Unfortunately that one didn't turn out like I wanted...the screen wouldn't lay flat so I put some of the bottles of paint along the edges to hold it down, expecting to get circles there...well, because they are a couple of inches tall, their shadow was also printed! So that is interesting news! I didn't expect a shadow. Where the screen was down actually worked ok, but it would be better with totally flat screen so I will re-dye that fabric and try again...
