I've been busy with some sewing for me and for some trades. First is my row for a Row Robin with some friends. Each of us has decided on our own theme, color scheme or whatever and made our first row. Each of us in turn will get each other's rows and make a row for each other. There are 9 of us and we each have about a month to do each row. We don't get to see our own rows (the ones made for us) until all of the rows are done! Mine is done with 1930's reproduction fabrics with white and done with traditional blocks. I won't be able to share what I do for the others until this is all done since some of them read this (when I get it updated! LOL!)
I've also been looking for a sunhat pattern and finally found a great one! I've made this one for a trade in one of my groups but I may just make a few others. I've embellished it with some flowers that I made in the hoop from Embroidery Garden. The sunhat is reversible which means 2 for the work of 1!
Also made this little quilt for another trade from some repeating print. I have a yard or two of this fabric so I can make a few more...maybe even one for myself, sometime!
And, then there are the birds! We have been feeding the quail (they are our 'pets') and they have been having babies! I think we have 5 or 6 clutches with 3 to 10 babies in each one. This is a group of 10 and I've only see the male adult, so don't know if something has happened to the mama or whether she is hatching another group. We have 2 clutches with only a dad so I need to do some research on this! Anyway, they are sure cute. These were outside my sewing room window when I took this one. This is one of the older groups. We saw one group the other day where the babies were really tiny! Have I told you how cute they all are???

Good to hear from you and your hat is fabulous! Love your blocks too. OH and the quail, how very precious! My hubby said he'd like to raise some quail sometime. Wonder how hard that would be? I keep thinking that they wouldn't last long with preditors around here. Mainly 14 cats. LOL
ReplyDeleteyour hat is beautiful! I love the flower embellishments and the beautiful fabric choices!
