Life's a beach!

Long gone are the days of lounging on the beach, baking in the sun, frying the skin a nice golden brown. But the beach is still a lot of fun and next week we will be taking off to a family reunion on the northern coast of California. This is not a bikini babe beach as it is usually much too cool. Jeans and jackets are usually the normal attire. There are great tide pools and it is a great beach to walk on. Anyway, the reason for the PC here is at ArtsNTheMail one of the trades coming up is BEACH! I wanted to incorporate some sand on my card so decided to try sandpaper. Never again! It chews up the bottom of my sewing machine feet (well, duh!) but fortunately I have 2 of the same foot so I didn't mess up a good one. The sun was done with an extra layer of Fast2fuse with the yellow on it, then used one of my decorative satin stitches for the rays and then used a shading stitch to hold down the edge of the sun and cover the fast2fuse. The flip flops are buttons I found and cut the shanks off. I got the idea from a beach banner I found online...
