I have been playing with making fabric bowls and gave some a presents this year. I found the directions online and now have purchased the book by Linda Johansen. If you look closely you will see that the ones in the first picture are actually made 'incorrectly' as they are a bit flatter than the others. These are pretty quick and easy, can be flipped inside out and I understand can be washed on the top shelf of the dish washer. Of course, they will only hold things like chips, nuts, cookies, etc., but should be a lot of fun.
This kitty I made for my grand nephew. It was actually a gift intended for last year (along with some others) but time got away from me and I put the material and pattern away. I recently rediscovered it and finally got it made. It is made out of minke and is very difficult to sew, at least for me! I didn't follow the directions exactly, but it still turned out cute. I hope he wears this kitty out!In my previous blog I posted a prize in honor of my 1 year blogoversary. HETTY is the winner!!! So Hetty, please email me your snail mail address and I will get your trinkets into the mail. Thanks to the rest of you for visiting and leaving comments.
Here's wishing you a great new year!
Barb, those bowls are fabulous! I went to the directions you linked to, hoping I could make them, too, but alas, you need a zig-zag stitch. I only have a straight stitching featherweight. Oh well. I'll focus on learning how to quilt. But those bowls are lovely. Maybe I'll pick up a cheap machine through Craigslist that does a zigzag.
ReplyDeleteThose are some great bowls and I bet that kitty is super soft to snuggle with. :)
