As you can tell I'm not a slave to my blog! LOL!!! I've been busy with school (work) and playing with new fabric. DH got me a couple of wonderful gift cards to Joann's and while I haven't spent all of them, I've done some damage! I've also joined a couple of other Yahoo groups and am learning my way around there.
I've been busy making coasters and seem to be giving them away or trading them almost as quickly as I can make them! It is nice to have a few 'on hand' for last minute gifts. I went shopping with a friend the other day and had her pick out some fabric and made her a set (she didn't specifically know what the fabric was for. These are the 4-patch coasters which are really quick and easy to make but I've been collecting other patterns and will need to expand my repertoire! You can see the results of my labors in the top 2 photos.
The bottom one is a package I received from Dee from one of my new groups - Sew Good Friends...this is the Valentine Swap and she sent some great things, including dark chocolate! I love the socks as I wear them to school and the kids get a kick out of them! She also included some 'bobbin bikinis' for keeping thread on bobbins from unraveling, a cup cozy, a FSL heart bookmark (I can always use bookmarks!) and a pair of coasters!. Right now I'm busy...well my embroidery machine is busy, working on the last item that's going in my package back to Dee and to Nina.
The other group I have joined is Sewing Gifts On Time. This isn't a trading group, except for ideas! The emphasis is to encourage one another to keep ahead of the curve for making gifts for holidays (specifically Christmas) so there isn't the last minute push at the end. I'm getting ideas lined up right now but haven't really gotten started but hope to soon!
That's all there is to catch up on now...thanks for visiting!
I love the coasters.
