I have really been ignoring this blog recently, but not intentionally! School wound down, camping season started (very wet over Memorial Day weekend!) and June started with 2 sinus infections, a bronchial infection and 3 rounds of antibiotics! WOW! Haven't had meds like that in years. I think it may have to do with the wetness where we go camping on Anderson Island and the associated molds...hopefully it won't continue now that it has dried out over there.
I have gotten some sewing done and will post pictures of some of the projects. I made a darling baby quilt and forgot to take a picture before I gave it to the mom! Hopefully I can get one since they are local. I designed it in EQ6...maybe I can upload a picture of it from there...
The BIG project (above) was a commemorative quilt in honor of what would be my paternal grandparent's 100th wedding anniversary. I used the really good Printed Treasures ink jet fabric to print out pictures of them throughout their lives, including wedding portrait and their 50th anniversary. Grandma grew hydrangeas along with roses and I was able to find hydrangea fabric for the background. I added some crochet and tatted pieces that Grandma had made. I was able to finish it up in time for the family reunion in July.
After the family reunion we did a bit more touring of Oregon with my sisters and their husbands, ending up in Portland for about 5 days. We only live less than 4 hours from Portland and go there occasionally, but it is usually for a conference so have little time for exploring, so that was a treat. We stayed at a wonderful B&B, The Georgian House. Willie, the hostess, is quite a character and my newest project is making some placemats and an apron for her, which I will post here as soon as I finish them.
Hope you have been having a creative summer! I'll try not to stay away so long!
