Sleepy time and tulips!

My oldest granddaughter wants to re-do her room in purple roses! Do you know how difficult it is to find purple rose fabric? Why purple roses? Her middle name is Rose and purple is her favorite color...so I did find some fabric and made pillowcases for her. Of course I had to make some for her sister...whose favorite color is red and she loves kitties! I hope to get them posted off this week!

The other day at Costco they had the glass jars with bulbs in it, ready to bloom. I should have taken a picture when I first brought it home, but this weekend it started to bloom! I took this picture earlier this morning and since then another 3 or 4 blooms have appeared! While the weather outside is not particularly wintery or spring-like, these tulips are a nice promise.

  1. Hi Barb,

I thought I would stop by and see what you're up to. A few years ago I found some purple roses from P&B and made a nice quilt for a friend's mother. It has yet to be quilted. I just got it done in Nov. It's the Tennessee Waltz quilt from Quilt in a day.

I was reading a post by Kate from ALQS and all the trouble she had with it. I just wanted to let you know again how greatful I am for your quilt. I can not thank you enough. I love everything about it. The colors, the pattern, the workmanship, the list goes on and on. It hangs in a spot of honor over our TV. Again, thank you and I am so glad that I was able to get such a great work of art from a beautiful lady like yourself. I hope that we can work together again in the feature.

  2. Hey there! Thanks for dropping by again! Glad you are enjoying the little quilt. I sure am enjoying the one I got. Yes, Kate has had a tough time with some of the participants. I will have to visit you again, soon!

I'm going to a sewing expo at the end of the month and am definitely keeping an eye out for purple rose fabric!

Thanks for the comments and compliments!
