Remember me?

I've been busy with work and a big project (which I will post about later) and then spring break came along!

Anyway, I wanted to show you some of the fun stuff I bought at the Sewing and Stitchery Expo in Puyallup several weeks ago.

First up are a couple of packages of the flat flower pins that I have heard about. I desperately needed some new >sharp<>.

Next is another pair of Kai's scissors! I bought 4 pair last year (a pair of shears, a pair of 5.5 inch embroidery scissors and 2 pair of 4 inch scissors, one curved and straight) and dearly love them. They are soooooo sharp and easy to use. This year I added their new curved 5.5 inch scissors to my collection. I see in the current issue (April/May) of Quilter's Home that Kai Scissors were the 'preferred' brand by a group of quilters.

The last 2 pictures are of my new cutting board from Martinelli. It is a self-healing cutting board and boy it is nice! I have used several including an Alto setup but this is great. I bought a kit which came with the carrying bag, a no-slip ruler and a rotary cutter that is more ergonomic. Cutter is better angled for ease on the shoulder and also for sitting down. Since I keep my cutting board to the side of my machine this works out well for me.

The no-slip ruler is interesting because it doesn't have the normal measuring indicators on it. Instead it has slits that are for various distances. Because of its no-slip texture you can also 'twirl' the fabric around without losing your place. Fortunately this set also comes with an instructional DVD!
